“Sharing some background on the mural ‘Heart and Soul’: At one point in Milwaukee’s history it was the #1 in the nation for Black people to live because of the factory jobs. There was more economic stability, more stable housing. I wanted to highlight Walnut street because it was the epicenter for Black businesses to thrive. In this section I wanted to highlight Milwaukee’s better days with the factory worker and walnut street. Located on corner of Holton and Meinecke. @jackdaniels_us @bucks “

Tia's murals project (a.k.a Cosmic Butterfly) a sense of joy into the surrounding neighborhood. Many of these were created with participation from people of all walks of life expressing their feelings about their community.
